The oak forest
Alameda del Valle has a non-negligible holm oak forest, which completes the range of ecosystems that are represented in the town. It is located in the solana zone, on the northern slope of the valley, occupying a small percentage on the surface but no less significant, as it fulfills an ecological function of great value.
It is a considerably dense forest, in whose undergrowth there are different types of jarales (Cytisus sp.) And thyme (Thymus sp.) In terms of fauna you can find birds such as the wood pigeon and the hoopoe and raptors such as the booted eagle ( Hieraaetus pennatus), in addition to mammals such as the genet (Genetta genetta), the hare (Lepus europaeus) and the fox (Vulpes vulpes).
