Virgin of the Candelas

The popularly known as "Las Candelas" are celebrated on February 2 , constituting the most winter festivity of Alameda del Valle. Formerly this celebration had a certain importance in the Lozoya Valley, a tradition that extended to other surrounding towns.

Although this celebration is kept in very few municipalities in the area, here it is expected and celebrated with enthusiasm with the traditional ones with mass and procession. Once the religious acts have elapsed, the City Council invites aperitifs at the Town Hall, to the delight of neighbors and visitors.
